A.R.E 4.0 Here I Come
The dust has settled and the transition of the Architect Registration Exam from version 3.1 to 4.0 has come and gone. It’s has been months since I received my FAIL letter thus sending me back to square one with none of previously passed tests transitioning to the 4.0. I have been beefing up my study materials to supplement what I already have, good news is that I do not have much more I need to acquire. I suppose that is good given the price of each exam has risen quite a bit compared to the 3.1 exams.
I must say that is was very discouraging knowing that I had to start all over again. I felt horrible knowing that all the hard work studying, and the time and money spend could be considered nothing more than just practice. I think that would make just about anyone want to just throw in the towel and give up. I certainly have felt like giving up a few times. But life is full of little setbacks and challenges and this is just one of those things. Besides I went to school to be an architect and soon enough I will have the title “Architect” after my name. Not to mention my boss would certainly be happy she’s been on my case for years about me getting my license. I hadn’t exactly moved at a speedy pace the first time around, but 4.0 will be a different story.
So, which test to study for first? Well, I have decided Construction Documents and Services. A subject I have passed once and will pass again. Really the only exam I am not looking forward to is the Structures Exam. Structures and Lateral Forces are not my subjects, but again I passed those before.
